I've had my iPod with me constantly lately, and there's a lot of it I just can't get enough of, so why not share some of what I've been enjoying? I apologize if some of it isn't your cup of tea, but I'm sure a few of you might actually enjoy a few!
Ween has always been a band that I could listen to song after song. They pack so much creativity and such a mixture of musical talent into every album that it's incredible. This instrumental is definitely one of my all time favorite Ween songs, and is performed live perfectly. It was written as a tribute to Funkadelic's guitarist Eddie Hazel, and after reading about Funkadelic, and Ween's tribute to them, I looked up the song "Maggot Brain" to see what they were like. If you liked this video, you will love that one also.
Prizzy Prizzy Please is from Chicago, Illinois. The first time I saw them was when they played at Rhino's Youth Center in Bloomington right before MC Chris, and that was really a show I'll remember. This is one of the most talented bands that I've ever seen perform live. They have so much energy throughout each song, it's ridiculously hard not to move along to the music. Took a short trip back to Rhino's to see them once again and they were just as awesome the second time around. Seriously, check these dudes out if you like what you hear! http://www.myspace.com/prizzyprizzyplease
Next is Bomb the Music Industry. I've been listening to them for a while, and I really can't get enough of 'em. I feel like no matter what kind of music you like, you can find a song by BMTI that you will like. Check them out (and download their albums) from http://quoteunquoterecords.com/btmi.php
You won't regret it!
Last, but not least, is Deal's Gone Bad. I saw them live when I went to a ska show to see Mustard Plug in Indianapolis a few years back. They have a very creative style and a very unique sound which made it awesome to see live. Their lyrics will get you singing along even if you don't know the whole song.
Just a few bands I've been listening to a lot and I thought some others might enjoy them as much as I did. Comment if you'd like and tell me if there is any you like more than the other or whatever!
Have a great night, dudes!
